The concrete frame extends the existing building and provides access for baggage handling tractors. Temporary props were required for the precast system for short periods. Continuous access was provided to the baggage handling tractors and trailers.

All visible concrete elements are precast including band beams, slab planks, stepped beam and columns.
Precast Connections
Precast connections
Connections were by grouted dowel bars between components. The steel beams are to support baggage handling equipment installed later.

"Threading the eye of a needle". The precast band beam had to fit between existing stormwater downpipes.
